My daughter is currently living ‘in-between’. Her bedroom is being completely remodeled at her dad’s while she is there. She will come home to a half-unpacked new home next Saturday. My first order of business will be to re-build her bedroom. 4 weeks ago I purchased a set of gauzy curtains to simulate a canopy bed (we have concrete ceilings here.) Now I can screw things into the ceiling so I will go and get her the round IKEA net she wants. I have a ton of pink Indian cotton with embroidered eyelets. This will become her window drapes. Looking forward to having tons of room to sew. I decided that my bedroom will be the big loft upstairs and the office will be the smaller room next to it only because it has a huge window.
I have moved my most fragile art and 20th century collectibles. Even the two heavy vintage pachinkos that I’ve been meaning to fix. I plan on rolling over a fair bit of odd shaped fragile items this week as well. Yes, I am technically moving stuff by foot LOL My best friend told me that he once moved by test-driving 3 trucks from a dealership, each time making a moving trip. Novel idea but I reserved a truck with driver and equipment. I intend on getting away with paying only half of what it cost me to move in here 3 years ago.
I think everything is set up. Got movers, enough boxes, chose insurance, notified utilities, changed my address with most services. I have yet to find someone to sublet my place so that becomes a priority.
